- Old Server
- Dismount all active logical volumes from their mount points.
- Deactivate the volume group.
- # vgchange -an <volume group>
- Export the volume group.
- # vgexport <volume group>
- Remove all information associated with the physical volumes.
- New Server
- Scan for new physical volumes.
- # pvscan
- Import the volume group from the old server.
- # vgimport <volume group>
- Activate the volume group.
- # vgchange -ay <volume group>
- Scan for new physical volumes.
