Initialize a Full System LPAR
- Logon to the HMC as an administrator.
- Expand: Systems Management->Servers.
- Highlight the server.
- From the Tasks Panel Select: Properties.
- Ensure "Power off the system after all logical partitions are powered off" is not checked.
- From AIX shutdown the LPAR.
- # shutdown -h now
- Remove the LPAR from the HMC's NVRAM.
- Expand: Systems Management->Servers.
- Highlight the server.
- From the Tasks Panel Expand: Configuration->Manage Partition Data.
- Click: Initialize
- Confirm your choice.
- Recreating the LPAR.
- Expand: Systems Management->Servers.
- Highlight the server.
- From the Tasks Panel Expand: Configuration->Create Logical Partition.
- Click: AIX or Linux.
- Name the LPAR as the serial number of the system and the Profile as anything.
- Check: Use all the resources in the system.
- Click: Finish
